What AI tools answer when someone seeks medically supervised weight loss
25 questions asked across 4 AI tools, with 95 responses saved as screenshots. No question names a program: these are the questions people type before deciding where to seek treatment.
This study does not pick a winner. The count is the same for everyone: the name is written in the response or it is not. Anyone appearing zero times is not included on this page, and no company commissioned, reviewed or paid for this study.
Three companies appear under two names each, which reorders the table
The study’s most cited name, Voy Saúde, appears in 19 of 95 responses, less than one fifth. Next come Liti with 16, and YouByYou with 12. There are 27 different programs cited and 155 mentions in total.
But the table counts names, and three companies have two names each. AI writes Voy and Voy Saúde as though they were different services, and the same happens with Liti and Liti Saúde, Medli and Medli Saúde. Adding the two spellings, Voy reaches 30 mentions, more than any individual row on this page. We deliberately keep rows separate: that is how the name reaches people reading the response, and a company written in two forms is read as two.
The other count that matters: in 40 of 95 responses AI cites no program. It explains GLP-1, mentions Anvisa and prescriptions, and directs the reader to seek a doctor.
10 of the 27 programs appear in three responses or fewer. They appear when the question becomes more specific: who delivers medication at home, has an endocrinologist, requests tests, or does not require a minimum contract term.

Either AI cites no one or it cites several
In 40 of 95 responses no name appears. Of the 55 where one does appear, 40 contain two or more names and only 15 contain one. Most often, a name entering the response does not enter alone: it competes for a place in a list, and where it appears matters as much as appearing.
Clini has an average position of 1.2: when cited, it is usually the first name. MediQuo is at the other extreme, appearing in 4 responses and ranking fifth on average (5.0), after the reader has already seen other names.
Each tool recommends a different program
This is the study’s most uneven finding. Voy Saúde appears in 56% of Google responses and 0% of ChatGPT responses: 56 points between its best and worst tool. This is not a difference in list position; it is the difference between being present and being absent.
No name is repeated by every tool, so the same company can be the first option in one assistant and not exist in another. It is the difference between competing for position and competing for existence.

Being read by AI almost guarantees being cited by it
In 53 of 95 responses, it is possible to see which sites the tool consulted. There were 195 different sites, and the most used is gov.br, the government portal, in 10 of 53. Among the ten most used, 7 are sites of the programs measured and 3 are external, such as gov.br and apps.apple.com.
What the tool reads also appears in what it writes: when the platform’s site was consulted, its name appeared in the response 82% of the time. When it was not consulted, the name appeared in 2%. AI writes the name of the program whose site it read.
gov.br at the top has an explanation: on a topic involving controlled medication, AI goes first to the official source and only then, if at all, cites who sells the program.
Some names cited by AI are excluded from the table, and it is fair to say which. MyFitnessPal (9), WeightWatchers (7), Noom (6), FatSecret (4), Tecnonutri (3), Yazio (3) and Lose It (2) are calorie-counting and diet apps, mostly international: they do not offer medical consultation or prescription, which is what this page compares. Also excluded are Doctoralia (6), a consultation-booking marketplace; DrOnline (3), Portuguese general telemedicine; and Ozivy (2), EMS’s semaglutide pen, a medicine rather than a program.

The question must be concrete for AI to cite someone
The 25 questions were written in four categories: general recommendations, who is looking, purchase conditions and informational questions. In the broadest category—the 19 responses to questions about apps offering injection pens and online medical care— Voy appears in 37%. It is the only category in which anyone exceeds one third.

In the other three categories, no one exceeds one quarter. In the 20 informational responses—from people asking the cost, whether a prescription is needed, or the difference between buying at a pharmacy and joining a program—the most cited is at 15%. It is the same person, one step before deciding, and at that stage the answer contains no name.
How we measure
- We asked the 25 questions in 4 tools, once each, in September 2026. That would yield 100 responses; we retained 95. In Perplexity, 20 of 25 were retained: 5 captures failed. Each question was asked in a clean window, temporary conversation without history, from an IP in Brazil. We saved every screenshot.
- No question names a program. All ask for recommendations, as someone seeking weight loss would ask.
- We count only when AI writes the program’s name in the response. When the name appears only on the list of sites consulted, it does not enter this count: that is something else, measured separately in section 04.
- We count only what the tool wrote. Site cards, videos and map listings around the response are excluded because AI is not choosing the name there.
- The names in the table came from the responses themselves. We did not begin with a ready-made list, so no outside program ‘should’ be there: if it was not cited once, it does not appear.
- Each name is counted separately, even when two rows belong to the same company. The table shows the name as AI wrote it. Where the same company is written in two forms, it occupies two rows because that is how it reaches those reading the response.
What this study does not say
- Nothing about treatment effectiveness. What is measured is what AI tools answer, not which program works best, and nothing here is medical advice.
- Nothing about how much each thing is searched. The 25 questions reflect how people ask, not a sample weighted by search volume.
- Nothing about what AI answers for you. Responses vary with the preceding conversation, region and day. This is a September 2026 snapshot in a clean window.
- Nothing about how to change this result. This material measures; it is not an action plan.
