What AI tools answer when someone looks for online therapy

25 questions asked across 4 AI tools, with 95 responses saved as screenshots. No question names a platform: these are the questions a person types before choosing where to seek therapy.

This study does not pick a winner. The count is the same for everyone: the name is written in the response or it is not. Any company that appeared zero times is not included on this page, and no company commissioned, reviewed or paid for this study.

01 · who appears

Two names above halfway, and the gap comes right after them

Vittude appears in 57 of the 95 responses, and Zenklub in 53. There are 4 percentage points between them, practically a tie. From second to third, Psicologia Viva, with 35, the difference jumps to 19 points. That is where the list divides: two names the AI tool repeats almost every time, and the rest, which appear when they do. There are 29 different platforms cited in total and 285 mentions combined.

The tail of this table is its least obvious finding. 18 of the 29 platforms appear in three responses or fewer, and together they account for less than 12% of mentions. Almost none appear when the question is generic: they come up when someone asks about a low price, ADHD, therapy for Brazilians living abroad, or a standalone session without a subscription. It is a market with many more names than an open-ended question reveals.

Two rows in this table belong to the same company. Zenklub and Psicologia Viva now belong to Conexa: the first was acquired and the second announced its integration in May 2026, and both remain live under their own brands. Together, they have 88 mentions against the leader's 57, accounting for 31% of everything cited on this page. These are combined mentions, not distinct responses: the two appear together in the same response many times. The table keeps them separate because that is how they reach people reading the AI response, and because this page measures the written name, not the owner of the CNPJ registration. But anyone reading the table to understand the competition needs to know this.

One name appears misspelled in the responses. In 3 responses, the AI tool wrote "Televita", with an E. No company exists by that name: the error comes from a September 2023 Olhar Digital article about online therapy apps, which spells the name that way, and the tool that read the article repeated the spelling. On this page, those responses count toward Telavita, which is the company they refer to.

How to read it. The second column shows how many responses the name appeared in. The third is the platform's share of everything cited: the 29 platforms add up to 285 mentions, and this column divides that total. The fourth shows where in the list the name usually appears: 1.0 would mean it is always first.
02 · the order within the response

Appearing is one thing; being the first name is another

AI tools almost never answer with just one platform: there are 3.0 names per response on average. That is why where a name appears matters as much as whether it appears. Zenklub is the one that most often opens the list, with an average position of 1.8. Psicologia Viva is at the other extreme: it appears in 35 responses and comes in at an average position of 3.4, after the reader has already seen other names.

For those in the middle of the table, this carries more weight than it seems. An AI response is read from top to bottom, and anyone appearing after two or three names reaches a reader who has already made a choice.

03 · one tool is not another

Some platforms exist in one assistant and not another

This is the most uneven part of the study. PsyMeet appears in 68% of Google's responses and 0% of ChatGPT's: 68 points between the best and worst tool for it. This is not a difference in list position; it is the difference between being there and not being there.

And this is not an isolated case. Two of the measured platforms owe almost all of their presence to Google and disappear when the question is asked in a conversational assistant; another follows the opposite path. For those outside the top two, this is where the useful news lies: there are tools where the competition is open and tools where it has not even begun.

04 · where the response comes from

Being read by an AI tool almost guarantees being cited by it

In 59 of the 95 responses, it is possible to see which sites the tool consulted. There were 117 different sites, and the most used of all is terappia.com.br, Terappia's website, in 7 of the 59. Among the ten most-used sites, 7 belong to the platforms measured and 3 are external, such as apps.apple.com and olhardigital.com.br.

And what the tool reads appears in what it writes: when the platform's site was consulted, its name appeared in the response 99% of the time. When it was not consulted, the name appeared 6% of the time. This is the widest gap we have measured in a sector study, and it says just one thing: the AI tool writes the name of whoever it read.

Some names cited by the AI tool are left out of the table, and it is fair to say which ones. Doctoralia is a marketplace for booking healthcare appointments in general, not a therapy platform: it appears in 14 of the 95 responses because almost every question touches on making an appointment with a health professional. The others are Amil (5), Bradesco Saúde (10), CVV (12), Click Saúde (1), Cíngulo (2), Sereny (3), SulAmérica (5), Unimed (8). They include a health-insurance provider, which sells plans rather than sessions; general telemedicine, with doctors rather than psychologists; an app with guided self-discovery journeys that does not connect users with any professional; an emotional support center serving the public, which is not a competitor; and a site the AI tool cites as if it were a platform even though it is a mental-health content blog. All were measured by the same standard and are declared here so readers do not look for them in the table.

What this section does not cover. This section looks only at tools that show the list of sites consulted. In practice, that means ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity: Google showed this list in 1 of 25 responses, so it is included in the count of who is cited and excluded from the count of who is read.
05 · the question angle

When the question does not ask for a recommendation, almost nobody is cited

The 25 questions were written in four angles: general recommendation, by who is looking, by purchase condition and informational. In the broadest angle, the 19 responses to people who only ask which platform is best, Vittude appears in 89% and Zenklub in 84%. Those who enter through this door always receive the same names.

The contrast is in the last row of the table. In the 20 informational responses, from people asking how much a session costs, whether online therapy works or whether health insurance covers it, the leader falls to 25%. The person is on the same purchasing journey, only one step earlier, and at that stage the AI tool responds by explaining the subject without recommending anyone. It is the largest empty space on this page: questions with an audience and no name in them.

06 · how we measured

How we measured

  • We asked the 25 questions in 4 tools, once each, in September 2026. That would yield 100 responses; we ended up with 95. Perplexity returned 20 of 25: 5 captures failed. Each question was asked in a clean window, in a temporary conversation with no history, from an IP address in Brazil. We saved a screenshot of every one.
  • No question includes the name of a platform. They reflect the way someone seeking therapy asks.
  • We count only when the AI tool writes the platform's name in the response. When the name appears only in the list of sites consulted, it does not count here: that is something else, measured separately in section 04.
  • We count only what the tool wrote. Site cards, videos and map listings that appear around the response are left out, because the AI tool did not choose those names.
  • The names in the table came from the responses themselves. We did not start with a prepared list, so there is no outside platform that "should" be here: if it was not cited even once, it does not appear.
  • Each name counts separately, even when two rows belong to the same company. The table shows the name as the AI tool wrote it. Where the same company is written in two ways, it occupies two rows, because that is how it reaches people reading the response.
07 · limits

What this study does not say

  • Nothing about quality of care. What is measured is what AI tools answer, not which platform takes better care of those seeking therapy or which one charges less.
  • Nothing about how much each thing is searched for. The 25 questions reflect how people ask, not a sample weighted by search volume.
  • Nothing about what the AI tool answers for you. Responses vary with the previous conversation, region and day. This is a snapshot from September 2026, in a clean window.
  • Nothing about how to change this result. This material measures; it is not an action plan.
